About the Author

Mrs. Stewart was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She is the ninth child born to Mr.&Mrs. L.C. McKenzie. Mrs. Stewart recalls her childhood as one that was adventurous and loving. “Living in a house with twelve siblings was wonderful! The only thing that I didn’t have to share was my dreams. Everything else was fair game.” She further explained, that her parents taught her, that a struggle was a sign of not giving up, and to pursue every dream until it was fulfilled. 

 

Mrs. Stewart attended Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio for two years, and later transferred to Dyke College in Cleveland, Ohio where she received her Bachelor’s degree. She is a strong youth advocate in her community and a liaison between students and college recruiters. Mrs. Stewart is a physical education teacher and basketball coach in Texas. She has two beautiful daughters, and is married to the love of her life, Joseph, of 18 years.
