Doctor is a chronicle of the many ordinary and the fewer extraordinary people encountered by one physician during his forty years of practice. It serves as a testament to the grace, poise, and spirit manifested by so many in the midst of tragedies and triumphs, agonies and joys, and dying and living. Conversely, Doctor exposes some of the worst in some reprehensible characters who regrettably made careers of it. About the Author

William Henry Lewis, MD, was a 1972 graduate from a large northeastern medical school. He received his training in internal medicine at his alma mater and then his training in cardiovascular diseases at a top university program on the West Coast. Including service as a medical officer in the United States Air Force, he practiced medicine for forty years. Doctor is a chronicle of people and events that he encountered during those years. “By observing so closely and so profoundly the humanity of others, I became more and more acquainted with my own.” “I am certain that many other physicians have had similar experiences and made similar observations.
