About the Author

Born in Kentucky, Michael was six months old when he started traveling extensively as a young boy. His father had a career with the US Army for twenty years, and they moved constantly.
"We lived across most of the United States, and including Europe. I saw the world and learned to speak different languages. Once we got back to the states we lived in racially mixed neighborhoods. I think that allowed me to interact as well as I did with the musical community. They're a very diverse group of people, and I was able to fit in with them. People often ask my favorite places to live which are Barcelona, Spain, and Lawton, Oklahoma."
When his father retired from the army, the family moved back to Boston. Michael being up-rooted most of his life was still able to start and finish high school within one school system. He graduated from college, worked as an expeditor, went to computer science school at night, then worked at MIT before getting into music.
Interestingly enough Michael drove limousines transporting celebrities such as "Little Richard", Willie Nelson, Bruce Springsteen and the Beach Boys, plus many more high profile people.
"It worked out perfectly for me. There was a lot of down time with that job. It was there that I could really work on the manuscript for my book Doo-Wop and the G-Clefs."
Michael lives near Boston, Massachusetts where he still works and plays guitar.
