Overview

As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, Laurel knows her business. However, when her clients are being taken one by one by a vampire named Naken, she fears that somehow the hypnotherapy is also responsible. Raithe, Laurel's best friend and sometimes assistant, fears for her own life, as well as Laurel's and her clients. The two of them race against time to try and figure out why her clients are being taken and how to stop Naken from taking anyone else. But this is not the only dilemma that Laurel is facing. There are Ben and Kianas, the two loves in her life.

The choices Laurel makes are tantamount to what the future holds for her and the people she loves. Ben, a love from her past has just come back into her life. Kianas is a new love who promises her a future that she could never have imagined, on another world called Htrae. Htrae is a world from another universe filled with beauty beyond belief; but it is also filled with danger - one that threatens Laurel's life and her ability to hold on to her past. If she allows Kianas to turn her, she may never be a part of her son's life. But if she stays human she is in danger of loosing her life.

About the Author

I am a retired clinical hypnotherapist. I completed my Ph.D. in 1990 and started a private practice which lasted twenty-five years in Southern California. I moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2005 with my late husband Chad where I began to explore my creative side in singing acting and writing. I have three children living in Southern California, one who adopted me in Sparks, Nevada and seven grandchildren.

"Dreams and Vampires" was inspired by my late husband's love of science fiction and my own inquisitive nature of "what ifs." It is a combination of science fiction and fantasy with my own experience as a hypnotherapist thrown into the mix.

I wrote "Dreams and Vampires" in Arizona. However, when I decided to place the beginning of my story in Arcata, California it rekindled my love of the North West and the peaceful solitude it has to offer. I will soon move to Northern California with my cat Gwynie and Finish writing my second book in the series of "The Saga of a World Called Htrae."
