Overview

In a common suburban town, through the harsh winter, someone is killing random people on the streets. The victims hold little in common besides being in destitute, engorging themselves on too much alcohol, and their tongues have been cut out. While detectives Burke and Lewis investigate this series of grisly murders, people of the local emergency department and the ambulance company carry on with their chaotic careers, not knowing if they are interacting with potential victims or the perpetrator of the crimes.
