Frank Zappa loved Halloween and year after year performed Halloween shows in N.Y.C. (several of which have been documented on audio and/or video). The Torture Never Stops is FZ's edit of the footage that was originally aired live on MTV in 1981 (yes, Virginia, MTV once showed actual music programming). It's the great 1981 band with Steve Vai and Ray White and the new young rhythm section of Chad Wackerman and Scott Thunes. The program is the standard Zappa concert mixture of new material (You Are What You Is and Tinseltown Rebellion material), old favorites ("The Torture Never Stops," "Black Napkins"), and of course plenty of Frank's amazing guitar soloing. If you're still watching your old Honker VHS or taped it originally off MTV, it's time to trade up, because both the picture and the sound are fantastic. If you haven't seen it and you're a fan of FZ, get it because you're in for a real treat. ~ Sean Westergaard
