"One of the more memorably titled horror films of the 1970s gets an above-average treatment on disc from Dark Sky Films. Werewolves on Wheels was plagued by a dark transfer in its VHS incarnation, so the crisp anamorphic, letterboxed transfer here is a revelation. Everything is colorful and the frequent night photography has levels of clarity and detail that this film has never before had on video. The audio retains the original mono soundtrack and it is a solid, distortion-free mix. In terms of extras, there is an informative commentary track with director Michel Levesque, co-writer David Kaufman, and moderator David Gregory. Both filmmakers have great memories, which results in plenty of behind-the-scenes details, and they have a nice rapport that makes the track easy to listen to. Gregory gives them plenty of room to talk but interjects with some interesting questions at the right places. Rounding out the disc is a theatrical trailer, a photo gallery, and some amusing radio spots for the film. To sum up, Dark Sky Films has done a great remastering job here and thrown in a few worthwhile extras to boot. It's a fine package for collectors of 1970s horror rarities."
