Based on the graphic novel Samurai Shiro by Danilo Beyruth, director Vicente Amorim's action thriller adaptation is set in Sao Paolo's Japanese community in Brazil, the home of the biggest Japanese diaspora. The story follows Akemi (Masumi), an unassuming young woman who discovers that she is the heir to the Yakuza crime syndicate, as an ancient sword finds its way to her hands. A mysterious stranger (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) guides her in what he calls her fate and destiny. But it turns out that her inheritance only covers half of the Yakuza, as the other half apparently wants to kill her.
