Doksuri Sanyang 독수리 사냥

As Cal Eagle's sister says, 'a multicultural, multidimensional train wreck of emotions and lives.' A story of eternal love and indigenous magic. A saga sweeping from the Vietnam War all the way to the wars of today.
Cal is a Hidatsa warrior who is severely wounded in Vietnam and is encouraged to life by his grandfather and two women who come to him in his dreams. The women persuade him to live and to come and find them. They promise love and a path to the beauty.
His family shaman and a friend who can see the tomorrows, both tell him that he and these two women are bound together by some mystery. They also tell him they have an ancient connection to him and the Hidatsa and will make his life 'interesting as hell'. The three of reincarnate over and over again searching for the mystery that binds them together and the resolution.
When Cal meets each of the women in life, they touch. In their skin to skin contact they see visions of each other, in other worlds, in other dimensions. Sometimes they are together, sometimes apart but always in love and happiness. The first dream-woman he meets is the Korean American, Rhee Seo Ah who is the sister of one of his US Navy crew mates who did not come back from Viet Nam. The second dream-woman is Jeon Jae Hwa, the sister of the Korean ROK officer and chaebol whom Cal helped extract from a mission on the Nha Be River. Each of the women take Cal into their lives, love him and then leave him. He manages to live beyond these times and lives toward the beauty. He lives to work and works to live.
All three of them accidentally meet at a gas station in Everett, Washington where Cal is badly wounded in a gunfight with right wing radicals. In Cal's blood they are able to resolve their centuries old wounds and live free.
