About the Author

Gailene John was born on the beautiful Caribbean Island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. She grew up in a small village, Calder Ridge, with her Mum and three other siblings. She also lived and worked on the Grenadine Island of Mustique and the Caribbean Island of Dominica. Her early childhood was a challenging one, where being born into a low socioeconomic status, meant not being a victim. Gailene used her drive, dedication and motivation through her education to empower herself. Through assistance given from close family and loved ones, she was able to pursue her goals in life. Gailene is a holder of a Bachelor of Arts degree, with honors in Liberal studies, with a specialization in International Politics from the St. George’s University, Grenada. She also holds a MSED with specializations in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment from Walden University. Apart from being a mother, and a budding writer, she is a trained teacher/instructor who has had the privilege of advocating education among her students, using her platform of “equal opportunity for all”. She also enjoys reading, writing, sailing, and interacting with others. Through her art, Gailene employs her creative skills and passionate nature for life, to depict the world around her. She sincerely hopes that through her leadership skills and achievements, that others will be inclined to follow their dreams.
