Egypt & Nubia: Sailing Lake Nasser:
A photographic journey along the Nile's Lake Nasser to discover the lesser known temples of Egypt down into Nubia.
Discover the wonders of ancient Egypt & Nubia along the banks of Lake Nasser. These spectacular temples were once at risk of being lost for eternity, yet thanks to teams from all around the world these temples and sacred sites were relocated to save them from drowning under the waters of the worlds largest man made lake. In the 1960's when Egypt wanted to modernise, they had a plan to create a lake to control the Nile flood waters. However this would come at the sacrifice of many monuments from over 3500 years ago. Today those who are lucky enough can marvel at the ancient wonders in their new locations. Though due to the rush to move the temples many of them are not well documented. Now in this book you can come along with myself, Curtis Ryan Woodside as I sail along Lake Nasser to discover the temples for myself. Enjoy over 500 images that document the details of the relocated temples such as The Valley Of The Lions, Kalabsha, Abu Simbel and more.
