About the Author

JACQUELINE MARCELL was a cinematographer/photographer and also taught at UCLA, and then a television executive, but she barely survived the stress of being a caregiver to her challenging elderly father and sweet ailing mother, both with Alzheimer’s which went undiagnosed for over a year. But after fighting through an unsympathetic medical system and depleting her parents’ life savings and much of her own, with sheer determination she figured everything out medically and behaviorally. Passion to save others from a similar experience (especially from getting so frustrated they commit elder abuse) compelled Jacqueline to write Elder Rage, launch a radio show to help caregivers (Coping with Caregiving on wsRadio), and become and international speaker (CEU/CMEs). She has spoken at hundreds of events including the California Governor’s Conference and before the Florida House of Representatives. Jacqueline's mission is to educate families and healthcare professionals on issues that so unnecessarily cost a year of her life—and then nearly her life itself when she was diagnosed with invasive Breast Cancer.
