Overview

The music on this spirited but amateurish Dixieland record marks the first release of material by an 11-year-old pianist named Harry Connick, Jr. His solos are quite basic (not on the level of Sergio Salvatore) while his vocal on "Doctor Jazz" is cute the first time around. The loose group jams through nine familiar Dixieland standards and includes trumpeter and leader Teddy Riley and bass player Walter Payton. ~ Scott Yanow
