The townsfolk of Tullahassee, Oklahoma are awed by the young woman they remember as the wild tomboy who ran around town - dirty, barefoot, and always causing trouble. Now, after completing medical school, Dr. Juba Gibson returns home, refined and well- respected by those from back east. She is ecstatic to be the one caring for her fellow townsfolk. But to her surprise, Tullahassee has made many changes - some good and some not so good.
