What is the relationship between the paradigms of empirical science and revelation in theology? - This question has been discussed in Protestant theology at least since the beginning of the 1970s. There has been a lot of talk about the empirical turnaround of theology and about the recourse to experience as a guarantor of a sense of reality. The study analyses the important contribution of Ingolf U. Dalferth to fundamentally defining the relationship between experience and revelation in the newer Protestant theology after Bultmann and Barth.
