About the Author

Dr. Vijay Shree Dhyani is teaching personnel (Department of Family Resource Management) College of Home Science, G.B.RU.A.&T, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. She has been involved in research as a scholar during her M.Sc. and Ph.D. research. She has also developed external frame backpack for carrying loads by women of Uttarakhand.

Promila Sharma, presently Professor in the Department of Family Resource Management, College of Home Science, GBUPA&T, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. She has more than 30 years of teaching and research experience and has written six books and contributed chapters in many books. She is Vice President of two reputed journals in the editorial board. She has compiled many projects and submitted reports to various agencies, International and National Journals. She has guided sixteen M.Sc. and Ph.D. students and has presented many research papers and chaired sessions. She has visited sixteen countries to present research papers in conferences.

Dr.T. C. Thakur is the ICAR National Professor, Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering. College of Technology G.B.RU.A.&T, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand. He was Commonwealth Scholar at the Cranfield Institute of Technology, England (U. K.) during 1981-85 to pursue his higher studies. He has over 38 years of experience in teaching, research and extension of various technologies. Dr. Thakur has published over 170 research papers/technical articles in National and International Journals. He has also published 16 research/extension bulletins and contributed to 18 book’s chapters. He is the recipient of many honours and awards because of his outstanding contributions in the field of Agricultural Engineering. Dr. Thakur has developed several types of innovative hill implements and farm machinery for plain regions which are being patented and commercialized. He is on the role of many esteemed organizations in the capacity of member and advisor.
