About the Author

Hi, my name is Ernest Ladd, but I go by Ernie. My wife, Annette and I are US-based missionaries. I am the Executive Director of Asia Pacific Outreach Network, a small nonprofit missions/educational organization (Christian interdenominational). I am a 1981 graduate of North Carolina State University, with a BA in Ed/Psychology. I was on the NC State football team with NFL stars like Ted Brown, Jim Ritcher, Johnny Evans, Mike Quick, and Super Bowl-winning Pittsburg Steelers Head Coach and CBS analyst Bill Cowher.

I spent 14 years overseas as a missionary/teacher in the Islands of Micronesia, mostly in the remote Nation of Palau. I taught high school there for 10 years and also served as a guidance counselor, football, basketball, swimming, and volleyball coach, music teacher, medic, church planter, principal, and pastor. As a guidance counselor, I helped send 47 students to various colleges and universities throughout the US Mainland, Hawaii, and Guam. Thirty-four of those students (that I know of) got their degrees.
During those 10 years in Palau, I taught Biology, World Religions, the Bible, Doctrine of The Christian Life, PE I & II, Advanced PE, and a class I designed called Health and Personal Development.
I am married to the love of my life, Annette (we are about to celebrate our 38th anniversary). We have one natural son, Josh, who is 32 years old and a graduate of a Christian University in Guam that I helped to grow and develop called Pacific Islands University (PIU.edu). His wife, Lindsay, gave birth to Gabriel Zack (Mekreos) Ladd on March 6th, 2021 and to David Thomas (Meiusech) Ladd on August 25th, 2022.

We have an adopted son from Palau named Ali, who is married to Zenida. They have 2 sons named AJ and Amaziah and a daughter named Angel. Ali just celebrated his 47th birthday. They currently are serving the Lord in Junction City, Kansas as “tentmaker” missionaries.

For the past 8 years, I have been partially and now permanently disabled. I miss teaching and, because of my disabilities, have a thirst for knowledge and an excitement for learning.
Consequently, I graduated in 2016 from Walden University with an MS - Adult ED Degree with a concentration in online teaching. I also earned 24 credits in Walden’s PhD program in Psychology.
My interest and talent for cooking comes from my mother, Mary Ladd, and several recipes are hers with many others inspired by her. I love to cook!!!

May Our Lord Richly Bless You and give you joy as you cook !!!
