David B. Hom is Professor and Director of Facial and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Patricia A. Hebda, PhD is Associate Professor of Otolaryngology, Cell Biology, and Physiology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Hebda is also Director of the ENT Wound Healing Research Program at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Rangos Research Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Arun K. Gosain, MD, FACS is the DeWayne Richey II Professor of Plastic Surgery and Chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Craig D. Friedman, MD, FACS is a Yale New Haven Health plastic surgeon and Executive Vice President of Medical Technology and Research at Biomerix Corp. in Somerset, New Jersey.

By unraveling the underlying basic science of the reparative mechanisms, the authors unveil the processes that can be employed to aid healing.
