About the Author

Carol Richardson Marty is a Seattle-based, Southern-raised cook, who is an award- winning culinary photographer and cake decorator. Carol has parlayed her love of food and photography into two businesses: Sugar Sand Photography and Carol�s Creative Confections. She is an experienced photographer, food stylist, and culinary instructor who has worked with a variety of companies, including Tully�s Coffee, Quaker Oatmeal, and Sur La Table. Additionally, Carol is a recipe tester for Cook�s Country magazine, and a field editor for Taste of Home magazine. She is originally from Tallahassee, Florida, is a Florida State University alumna, and is a die-hard FSU football fan!

Karen Binkhorst is a busy and well-respected personal chef and caterer in Seattle, Washington. She has owned her business, Home Meals with Karen, since 1997. Karen received a degree in Restaurant Management from Columbus Technical College in Columbus, Ohio, in 1981, but most of her education has come from working in all kinds of food establishments�from hotels, country clubs, and top restaurants to truck stops. Karen has been inspiring folks to cook by teaching cooking classes to anyone who will listen since 1995. She lives with her two partners Jeri and Jen and intends to never leave paradise.
