In Everything, a koala mommy is hard pressed to express what she loves best about her baby. In the end, she decides that she can't pick one thing; it has to be everything. When You Were Born visits different animal families and their babies, ending with a family of humans. With each family, the story demonstrates how life is enhanced by the new arrival: "When you were born, the rain stopped, the sun came out, and the sky turned blue." Adorable, digitally rendered images adorn the pages in both books, with silver or gold leafing accents on a number of spreads.
