Sutton Dahl, a Baltimore PI, is also tracking the same man, known to her as Ryan Bane; he killed her mother. When Sutton steals a file from Bane while in Paris, she piques the interest of the Alliance, and Josiah breaks into her apartment and threatens her. But when she comes under fire from Bane, Josiah ends up being her rescuer. After Sutton proves that she can be an asset to the Alliance, she and Josiah distract themselves from their fears of death by jumping into bed.
