She is a teacher and home visitor for the Families Together Preschool, a nonprofit early intervention program, and an instructor at the University of Minnesota Center for Early Education and Development.


Mary Gallagher has degrees in studio arts and occupational therapy.

In addition to illustrating books, she is a pediatric occupational therapist in St. Paul charter schools and the Families Together Preschool.
