Richard Grimmett is Head of Conservation at BirdLife International. Carol and Tim Inskipp are freelance wildlife consultants All three are widely travelled in Asia and authors of a series of books on the birds of the region.

Hem Sagar Baral is manager of the Zoological Society of London's Nepal office and an authority on Nepalese birds.
Richard Grimmett is a leading expert on the birds of southern Asia. He is co-author of the major work Birds of the Indian Subcontinent (Helm, 1998), from which has sprung several highly acclaimed field guides.

Hem Sagar Baral is a leading expert on the birds of southern Asia. For four years, he worked as a naturalist at Royal Chitwan National Park before completing a diploma in geology at Tribhuvan University and then earning a PhD for his work on the lowland grassbirds in Nepal. Hem has found four new species of grassland birds for Nepal: Jerdon's Babbler, Finn's Weaver, Singing Lark and Moustached Warbler.
