July 2, 2012 marks the 75th anniversary of the last flight of Amelia Earhart.
"Finding NR16020" is a relatively short book on the disappearance of Amelia Earhart, her navigator, Fred Noonan, and their plane NR16020 in the summer of 1937. It focuses soley on the fateful leg of their journey between Lae, New Guinea and Howland Island. Howland Island is a small, isolated outpost in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
No new document, physical evidence or eyewitness is presented in this book. Using currently available research material, the author developed a new theory of what happened and where the plane crashed into the ocean. Chapters in the book include but are not limited to: radio communications to and from the plane, contributing factors in the disappearance, the one fatal error, charting the entire flight, and where the plane ran out of fuel.
This is the ultimate missing person cold case. Clues are either missing or contradictory. However, steadfast detective work can get all the pieces of the puzzle to fit and solve the mystery.
