Dusty Rainbolt is an award-winning cat writer according to her voice mail. She recently stopped writing on her cats because they move around too much and they smeared ink all over the furniture. She’s worked as a professional free-lance journalist since the late 1980s, and began specializing in pet journalism in 1995. She's a practicing cat behavior consultant and an active cat rescuer/rehabber. She has rescued and rehomed over 1500 cats and kittens.
Dusty is the author of the award-winning cat behavior manuals,
Cat Scene Investigator: Solve Your Cat’s Litter Box Mystery,
Kittens for Dummies (yes, the famous Dummies series), and
Cat Wrangling Made Easy: Maintaining Peace and Sanity in Your Multicat Home. Her scifi fans know Dusty for her comedy novel
All the Marbles and as coauthor of the outrageous fantasy
Four Redheads of the Apocalypse series and her paranormal mystery,
Death Under the Crescent Moon.
She is past president of the Cat Writers’ Association. Since joining the organization in 1995, Dusty’s books, columns, reviews and articles have been honored with more than 50 writing awards.
