    About the Author

    Richard Lord is a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner who has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health since 1998. He is the owner and director of Housing Audit Services Ltd, an independent Housing and Health consultancy service providing support services to private sector landlords, managing agents and private sector providers of student accommodation. He specialises in fire safety in HMO's, assisting landlords and managers with overall compliance with the Housing Act 2004 and associated regulations, and fire risk assessments. Richard is part of the national team of ANUK/Unipol verifiers who audits members compliance against the National Codes of Standards for Larger Residential Developments with particular expertise concerning fire safety in student accommodation. He provides HMO support services, including fire safety risk assessments, to landlords and portfolio managing agents of smaller HMO's mainly across the East of England.
