Kevin Lacey is an accomplished aviator with nearly five decades of aviation experience. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with multiple Jet Type Ratings, a Sea Plane rating and a Flight Instructor Certificate. In addition, he is a Certified Aircraft Mechanic with Inspection Authorization.
At an early age, he planned to become an airline pilot but entering the aviation industry at a time when the market was flooded with pilots, flying jobs were scarce for a young, newly minted civilian aviator. Kevin had to overcome many obstacles along the way.
His career path took several unexpected turns and he often found himself taking jobs that no one else would, or could do. His aircraft mechanical skills were usually what helped open the cockpit door for him. There were plenty of pilots around, but not very many with aircraft maintenance experience.
While many scoffed at the idea of repossessing an airplane, Kevin saw it as an opportunity to build flight time while earning some pretty decent money. His mechanical experience and background coupled with his flying skills made him a valuable asset in a non-traditional career.
Kevin's "can do" attitude led him into many difficult and sometimes comical adventures across the U.S. and many foreign countries.
Today, Kevin spends much of his time mentoring local teenagers with the non-profit youth aviation organization, the Tango Thirty One Aero Clube that he and a couple of friends founded.
