Overview

22-year-old Nicholas Backon was notorious in England for not getting caught for the things that he's secretly deeply ashamed of. But when he gets kidnapped by the Government and thrown onto a warship to the unhinged English Colonies, his knack for getting away won't work. Besides, the soldiers don't matter. They aren't people, just mindless pawns of the Empire, manipulated by the General and secrets of malicious battle brewing right under their noses. And with shady characters, like scarred Benedict, stern yet free-willed Kitty, and the strangely 2-faced Stacey make everything even more blurry. Nicholas finally has to come to terms to find out if he has any courage left, or if he had any to begin with.
Taking place on the edge of Revolutionary War, Forced into a Redcoat is a heart wrenching and surprisingly accurate view of the Revolutionary War through the eyes of a British soldier. And whether you love violence, chaos, forgiveness, hope, or history in general, you'll find something in this tale of redemption, regret, sorrow, joy, reformation and most importantly, finding yourself

About the Author

Paige Eden…...that sounds familiar. Maybe because it’s me! You’re supposed to do these author biographies in 3rd person, but I don’t care! Hi, my name’s Paige Eden! I was born in 2007 (making me 13 at the publishing of my first book!!!), and here are 5 interesting facts about me.

1. I’m the author of Forced into a Red Coat, which I hope to turn into a nonlinear historical fiction series.

2. I love acting, singing (I have a really high singing voice), history, old horror movies, overacted comedy, old cartoons, motion control video games, Flash computer games, card games, online quizzes, deep-sea animals, wild Claudia Kishi from The Baby-Sitters Club fashion, chicken (for some reason), learning ASL, and, of course, books!!

3. Some of my favourite books and book series of all time are Big Nate Series by Lincoln Peirce, El Deafo by Cece Bell, Judy Moody Series by Megan McDonald, Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein, The Baby-Sitters Club Series by Ann M. Martin, Babymouse Series by Jennifer L. Holm and Matthew Holm, Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery, and The Dollhouse Murders by Betty Ren Wright.

4. I’m a complete scatterbrain, so much so that I forget to lock the front door a lot of the time! But I use that to my advantage when writing because I can come up with OODLES of ideas!

5. I value self-expression and non-conformity. People should be themselves and treat others like people, too. Everyone should make their own music instead of singing along in the chorus, no matter how off-key or wonky or badly-sung that song might be.
I live in the USA, with my family. My life goal is to write more books in the future that inspire people and leave a lasting effect in my own loud, chaotic, intense, and original way!
