Overview

Twenty years have passed since the Engine War. Krul Trachin finds himself on the dragon infested desert world of Obia. Poisonous blood from the enigmatic dragons may hold a cure to his genetic ailments. But Obia is quite possibly the most dangerous planet in the entire galaxy. And it is surrounded by the massive, mysterious, warlike Ibu'ka Confederacy. The former Dark Traveler is far from home, a hunted and haunted master of magic, adrift in a sea of conflict and secrets.

Back home on Noss, the capital of the ruined Republic, all struggle to survive. Even ravaged, Noss has become a sanctuary for alien refugees fleeing oppression and savagery. Many push the boundaries of culture and morality to escape the Republic's dark past, hoping to abandon brutality forever. But can they overcome the negative side of what allowed them to survive the Engine War, and still remain Noss?

Dark secrets abound as Krul begins his quest of science and kicking people out of windows! Can the Republic survive the return of their eccentric Dark Traveler?! Is any civilization safe when Krul Trachin comes looking for metaphysical knowledge?! What must be done to keep Krul from the thick women of the galaxy?! When confronted with war once more, can the Noss Republic survive, or must the Dark Traveler come to their aid?!

A continuation of the Books of the Dark Engine series.
