Frank Went to Yale is a satirical novel about the consequences of pushing American teenagers too hard to get accepted to top-ranked colleges. Every fall, families in this otherwise bucolic waterfront New England town go berserk over the college admissions process, using money, gaming, even blood and violence, to win the coveted prize of admission to a name-brand school. Maggie went to a huge party school and wants better for her kids. Frank, however, went to Yale, and is determined that his kids do the same whether they want to or not. Their three kids have their own ideas, coping in their own unique ways with a relentless pressure to compete and win.
