Overview

What would a parent do to save their child? Fight the dead? Defy the gods?

Helen Gunn moves to the Wirral Peninsula, England, with her estranged husband, Robert and their three year old daughter, Charlotte to try and save the marriage. Within days of moving into their new home, Charlotte begins talking to an invisible friend and strange shadows roam the house threatening the families safety. Soon, Helen must face a parent's worst nightmare in order to save her daughter's soul.

Einaar had never questioned the old gods. He came to England with his young family to try and start a new life, farming the land and living in peace, after years of fighting. When a strange illness sweeps through his village, killing without mercy and his child is blamed, he must save his daughter from his own people and the sacrifice they demand to Odin.

An archaeological dig has unearthed a forgotten Norse village. There is no record of this village ever existing. A long lost secret has been unearthed. The gods have awoken.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Freya's Child is a most enjoyable read full of emotion sending a chill down your spine. The Author P J Roscoe takes you on a journey into individual aspirations of religious, cultural and spiritual belief, she brings the present day and the past together. The Author takes you into the depths of conscious thought, set in the Viking times and present day, questioning your own senibility into the stronghold of religious and cultral beliefs. The Author takes you further then you would dare at present day. I enjoyed the historical content evoking changing times the book took you into the centre of Viking life. This book is to be recommended.

I don't get much time to read and I bought this book to take on holiday. I thoroughly enjoyed it from cover to cover - I didn't want to put it down. I love the way the book moves comfortably from past to present. The spiritual, emotional and historical aspects of the book weave well together and the insight into Viking times is fascinating. Much thought, time and research has clearly gone into the local area and Viking life. For me the characters, the constant movement in storyline, and the way the three stories merge together were the highpoints of the book. I really must look out PJ's other books. A great read!
