About the Author

Marlene McKnight Koenig is a retired Administrative Assistant for a large corporation. As a lifelong resident of Ohio, with two grown sons and an active church life, she finally found the time and inspiration to write her first children's book, based on real family events.

An avid reader her entire life, she decided to join with friend, Author/ Illustrator David Phillip Parks, to bring the true, touching story of Frisky to life. In her spare time, she loves doing crafts, baking, doing word and jigsaw puzzles, working on computer projects, crocheting, and playing the piano.

David Phillip Parks is the author/illustrator of the children's book, "Weather ... It Matters," the co-author and illustrator of "David's Castle On Crescent Beach," the illustrator of "Kevie Keanu's Walk With Nana" and the cover illustrator of "My Dad Was So Mean: A Memoir of One of the World's Oldest Baby Boomers" by Elizabeth Streb Parks.
Wanting to live a balanced life, his interests also include music (plays drums, guitar, bass, and keyboard), inventing, metal working/welding, athletics and nature. He furthered his academic studies at a state university, majoring in meteorology and severe weather.
