Overview

Thestory is set in Ohio in 1794, the time of the Battle of Fallen Timbers between U.S. troops led by General Anthony Wayne, and the Shawnee led by Chief Blue Jacket. DAvid Joyce lives in Ohio near the Tiffin River, with his parents and litle brother, Michael. One day, renegade Shawnee burn the family cabin_both parents die in teh fire, and Michael is kidnapped by the Indians. He discovers his own courage while attempting to forge a peace between teh Shawnee and General Wayne. He comes to understand the real meaning of courage, the power of love, adn who he truly is in his heart. Ages 8-12
