Now a quintet with the addition of multi-instrumentalist Jordi Sapena, Valencian indie pop outfit La Habitacion Roja are back with the rousing Fue Electrico. Santi Garcia produced this set of jagged electric guitars, pulsating verses, epic choruses, and troubled, bittersweet lyrics -- with more than a passing resemblance to bands like Interpol and the Cure. Detractors may accuse the band of becoming derivative (particularly from its own past work), but fans will find plenty to enjoy in this uniformly strong collection, clearly made with a live audience in mind. ~ Mariano Prunes
