About the Author

David D. Ardayfio is Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Prior to this he taught at the University of Missouri-Rolla, University of Liberia, and University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. The author of over 70 publications on CAD/CAM, mechanisms, robotics, and expert systems, he has conducted research on these subjects funded by industry and the National Science Foundation, and he has served as a consultant in mechanical engineering and automation. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Robotics International, and the Engineering Society of Detroit. Dr. Ardayfio received the B.S. degree (1968) in mechanical engineering from Ghana University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, and M.S. (1970) and Ph.D. (1972) degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
