Genesis 2Q 2022 Bible Bookshelf

Genesis, the first book of the Holy Bible, is not just about the distant past and the faraway future. It speaks to us in the flesh of our present life; it addresses our struggles. In fact, the stories of the book of Genesis have it all: religion, politics, sex, violence, wars, famine, love and hatred, world- wide disasters, gastronomical interests, ethical dilemmas, suspense and intrigue-all wrapped up in a true and timeless story with cosmic bearings and eternal repercussions. Its shockingly sinful characters manage to leave a legacy of high moral and spiritual standards.

  • Cringe as Adam and Eve make their fateful choice to eat the forbidden fruit.

  • Admire Noah's faith in the face of decades of mockery.

  • Tremble as Abraham raises his knife against his promised heir.

  • Be inspired by Joseph's wisdom and ability to forgive.

See Genesis in a new light as author Jacques Doukhan shares how the stories of these ancient sinners of flesh and blood can open a door to ourselves, to our hearts, and to our minds, "for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Tim. 3:16).
