Overview

Genesis is the foundation of the entire Bible. Genesis records the beginning of the heavens and the earth, and of plant, animal, and human life. It voices the rebirth and the new creation which followed the world-wide flood's chaos and ruin. The problem of Adam's "first sin" has affected man's condition on the earth and his relationship to God. This first, or "original sin remained with those who disembarked the ark and continues with us today. Yet God made eight great covenants with man including four in the Book of Genesis: the Edenic, the Adamic, Noahic, and Abrahamic Covenants. The latter is included in this text of Genesis Two. Genesis scriptures are found within the New Testament and is quoted more than sixty times in seventeen of the twenty-seven books. So the roots of all subsequent prophecy is planted in Genesis. Genesis is not a book of myths as many non-believing speakers would state. Modern archaeology witnesses to the historical reliability of Genesis and the Bible.
