About the Author

Raj Kumar Rai at present in Physical Geography, Geography Department, North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong, passed his M.Sc. in Geography from Saugar University, Sagar (MP) in the year 1964. Since then he had been teaching in the Geography Department at Saugar University up to April 1978. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in the year 1970. His findings on the Sonar-Bearma Basin are a valuable contribution to the geomorphology of India. He has been actively engaged in further research work and has published more than fifteen papers in the field of geomorphology. He has also written three school geography books for the MP Textbook Corporation. He is working on a UGC project "A Study of Vulcanicdykes, Dam sites and Water Sources of Bundelkhand Region (MP)" and is also actively engaged in the geomorphic study of the North-East Region of India.
