ABOUT THE AUTHOR

In her former career, Jax Hix was a scientist who published research, science fiction stories and poetry. She is still a geek and lives in Washington with her Spouse, Human and Furry Children and many plants. Jax has been writing, drawing, and performing music since early childhood.
When she is not raising Scottie dogs and tending to her virtual forest of plants, she reads, draws, performs music and writes. She recently completed Golden Deer Sun and White Bear Moon (children's book) and Chronicles of My Life With a Blonde (comedy fiction). Her nonfiction book, Suburban Farming, will be available in 2012. She continues to write novels.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR

Matt Anderson began his path as a freelance artist by drawing wildlife illustrations at the age of 7 in the small country town of Orofino, Idaho. After graduating from high school, Matt chose an intuitive path of learning and moved to Phoenix, Arizona to pursue his dream and use his talents within the entertainment industry.
In 2000, Matt had the honor to collaborate and create an art piece with American Artist Fritz Scholder (1937-2005). The collaborated piece was published in Fritz's art book entitled "Thoughts at Night". Other honors include his participation in two of Phoenix's largest community art projects entitled "Guitar Mania I" and "Guitar Mania II", where he was sponsored by Fender Guitars, FOX 10, American Idol, Ryan Seacrest, Danica Patrick, and Green Day. Matt's work is seen in television, film, on album covers and hangs in the homes of celebrity figures.
