About the Author

Miriam J. Levy is an assistant professor of history at the University of Hartford. She did preliminary research on Governance and Grievance, with the support of a Fulbright grant and subsequent research through the Institute on East Central Europe at Columbia University. Professor Levy earned her A.B. degree in history from Columbia University. She has received numerous research grants and fellowships to support her study in Austria, Italy, and Hungary.
