Overview

When 11-year old Shak starts feeling a pain in her lower abdomen, her worried mother starts the quest for a cure, a quest that begins and ends with the local medicine woman. Fueled by the fear of imminent death, Shak allows herself to be swept up into the beliefs of her mother and ventures into the mysterious world of Ms. Kardee, only to find that her ailment was not that mysterious in the first place.
