About the Author

JANNA MACAUSLAN and KRISTAN ASPEN are freelance academics, performers, and lecturers dedicated to increasing public awareness of women in the field of music. MacAuslen and Aspen formed the Musica Femina Flute Guitar Duo in 1983, and since then have toured the country performing works by women composers and lecturing about women in music. They have recorded two compact discs, Returbaning Muse to Music (1989) and Heartstreams (1993).
