It's a comprehensive guide filled with basic instructions, starting with reading the packaging on the quilt batting to pick the right one and to see how close together the stitches must be for success. The book also includes a variety of simple patterns that move to more complex ones for curves and fans. For faster finishing, Forster introduces tying and finishing with novelty stitches, such as cross-stitches and the triangular ones known as crow's feet, done either by hand or machine. There is also guidance about how to bind the quilt. The book's projects range from a simple coffee cozy (great for building confidence) and quilts suitable for children or snuggling on the couch to full-size bed quilts.
