Overview

Clarence has put on a few pounds and is fearful that he might end up being a holiday dinner when
Farmer Hayman looks at HIM with a sly smile. This turkey wastes no time packing and runs away
from the farm. Along the way, Clarence meets two young brothers Brett and Blake. The boys befriend the nervous turkey and give him a place to stay. The next several days become fun times for the trio until the day before Thanksgiving when they notice Farmer Hayman approaching their house. Clarence starts to panic, but the boys come up with a clever plan to save their feathered friend.

About the Author

Sandy Thompson was an elementary school teacher for over 30 years and created many original educational activities based on her belief that learning should be and can be fun. Sandy’s great passion is teaching young children in a positive and fun way. Her love for children and her experience as a teacher helped Sandy develop an understanding of what amuses children and captivates their interest. Sandy’s students, who represented a wide variety of cultural, ethnic and economic backgrounds, consistently received high marks on standardized testing. Many of her former students still stay in touch with Mrs. Thompson.
In her children’s stories, Sandy conveys a positive mix of people helping others combined with an inviting level of educational material interwoven in the tale. Sandy hopes to share stories such as her first book “Happy Thanksgiving to Auntie Yammy” with many young minds in the future.
