About the Author

Mary D. Williams wrote her first poem ‘Born with no silver’ in 1986. After
publishing the poem in Penn Valley Community Colleges Writers’ club
publication; Mary knew she had a talent for writing. Since then she has
earned her Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, UMKC 2006 and her MBA
from Touro University 2015.
Happy the Hitchhiking Praying Mantis was inspired by a friend sharing a
story of an actual praying mantis on his shoulder, while reporting to work
one day.
Mary is currently working on Happy’s next adventure.
