About the Author

Raised on an Iowa Century family farm, Waterloo native Kris Klingaman has a genuine life-long love of animals, especially horses.
A mother of two, she had an extensive career of training and showing Paint and Quarter horses, combined with a rewarding 30-year career of professional horse judging throughout Iowa and the Midwest. Kris has loved, trained and shown many State and National Champions including her favorites: APHA Versatility Champion, Dainty Affects, and AQHA Performance Champion, Iowa Quarter Horse Association 2016 Open All Around Horse and High Point Performance Champion, Very Smart And Light.
Kristin Jo Klingaman met the love of her life, David Alan Albrecht in 2003. He saved the last dance for her. Before retiring in 2014, Dave and Kris farmed 3,000 acres of corn and soybeans. Currently, the couple enjoy adventures together as they journey through life, living on their Fairbank, Iowa, farm, as well as their second home in Fredericksburg, Texas. Now at ages 64 and 60, surrounded by their prize-winning Quarter Horses, the couple delight in showing in the ranch riding and cow horse events at American Quarter Horse Association and National Reined Cow Horse Association shows throughout the Midwest and southern states.
