While he's finally physically ready to hit the ice again, his coach is concerned about his mental health and his empty apartment. When Nick hires Alyssa Compton to spruce up his place, sparks fly. Everdeen's expressive nuances add grace and vulnerability to Alyssa's persona. Mondelli's narrative voice sounds a bit monotone at times and fails to capture Nick's emotional wounds.
