Guitarist, singer, and composer Geoff Muldaur has been at the forefront of the blues, folk, and jazz scenes since the 1960s. A founding member of the Jim Kweskin Jug Band and an integral part of Paul Butterfield's Better Days, Muldaur blazed his own path in the '70s and beyond, applying his blues-folk stylings to a host of projects that ranged from collaborations and solo work to film and television scores. His Last Letter sees the veteran artist working with a cadre of the best classical and jazz musicians from America and the Netherlands on an eclectic set of jazz, blues, folk, and country songs that offer up a widescreen view of American culture. Recorded in Amsterdam, the innovative double LP includes nods to Jelly Roll Morton, Duke Ellington, and Blind Lemon Jefferson, among others, and features multiple original compositions that incorporate the poetry of Tennessee Williams. ~ TiVo Staff
