History Makes Our Story
My book starts off with a question "Who I want to be constantly presented itself in my twenty-two years of life". Trying to understand what I will stand for and why. Creating morals to live by and stand on. Looking through history for leaders and figures that relate to me. Being open to learning and unlearning traits and characteristics I have gathered on my journey through life. The idea to create this book sparked on a trip I had to Chicago. I was visiting a very dear friend who has always been an inspiration to me since we've met. I chose to write a book about black historians who are often overlooked or briefly mentioned. I intended to highlight the accomplishments and hardships these historians overcame during their era and time periods. In the end, I encourage the readers to use modern technologies and social media as an outlet to speak their beliefs and ideas and bring them to life.
