Overview

Tyga and YG pick up where they left off -- "Go Loko" and "Mamacita" -- with Hit Me When U Leave the Klub: The Playlist. These tracks dispense with the Mexican flavors of those 2019 collaborations but catch the Compton-born rappers in similarly off-the-cuff, irreverent modes. Sonically, the tracks have more in common with YG's I Got Issues than with Tyga's Legendary, given that many of them are handled by I Got Issues producers such as Swish, Mike Crook, and Iceberg. They're generally lean and bumping. with a handful -- the Isley Brothers-sampling "Choose Up" and the Cameo-echoing "West Coast Weekend" included -- that would be easily adaptable for slow jams. ~ TiVo Staff
